In December 2018 the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Naxos, which is the driving force and engine of growth of the agricultural world of Naxos, opened its own restaurant!

The restaurant is located at the sea front of the capital city of Naxos, Naxos Town (Chora), and its name, “1926”, is the year when the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Naxos was founded.

But, what makes this restaurant unique? It is its raw materials and products, which come from Naxos and Naxos only!

So, this is what “1926” is! A bold endeavor to bring to your plate and promote the gastronomic wealth of Naxos in a fine, warm environment, offering you a qualitative and complete food experience you will never forget!

 

In “1926” our qualified and experienced chefs prepare dishes well-known and popular all over Greece, such as tomato beef stew, goat in lemon sauce and fried pork “tigania”. In addition, they present some different choices, such as grilled lamb chops with thyme honey, Graviera cheese “saganaki” (fried Graviera cheese) with tomato jam and grilled pork steak with fresh cow butter, garlic and dill.

The traditional cuisine of Naxos is also present in “1926”; try the delicious Rosto (pork leg in fresh tomato sauce with garlic)! The traditional salads, strong herbs, delicious cheeses and the famous potato of the island play a leading role in our menu.
